After many years of working in residential property , I have taken the giant step of launching my own residential consultancy, using my experience and contacts of working in agency, client-side and within the new burgeoning market of the Private Rented Sector, to help businesses become more profitable or to move into new offerings.
My last position was as Associate Director at Get Living London, currently one of the largest PRS Operators in London. “To be able to challenge the norm in residential lettings and to be a market leader in creating an environment where we truly listened to the needs of our residents was just too attractive a proposition to resist”. Get Living London has twice been awarded Landlord of the Year and East Village awarded the “Development of the Decade”.
Last year, I sat on the DCLG’s Private Rented Sector Affordability and Security Working Group looking at options on how to improve accessibility and security for tenants: the final report was submitted to Gavin Barwell MP. I also sit on the British Property Federation and The Dispute Service forums, and the UK Apartments Association (UKAA) Education and Training Committee. In addition, I contribute to the content of the new PRS Build to Rent qualification which the Government asked the IRPM to set up in recognition of the need to professionalise this new market sector, and the PRS Code of Practice.
Previously, as an Associate Director at Grosvenor, I was responsible for the management of a mix used portfolio with an annual rental income of c£40m. The purpose was not only to maximise income but to ensure that Mayfair remained a top global destination for residents to live, work and relax. Whilst there I spent 12 months on a change management project which resulted in a transformational re-structure.
Prior to Grosvenor, I spent 10 years in agency. It is this sector which whilst undergoing major change, also offers great opportunities to those companies that are willing to take a realistic review of their business model and to look at the market afresh.
Qualification-wise I am Associate RICS, Member of the Association of Residential Letting Agents as well as being a Member of the Chartered Management Institute. I have completed Neuro Linguistic Programming training and have an Executive Level IOSH qualification. In my spare time I have an challenging Boxer to walk, so going to the gym is the easier part of my exercise regime!
